The Woodbuy Ambassadors Royal Family have been in existence for over 25 years. The Ambassadors
are chosen following a month long candidacy of interviews, community service events,
and volunteering with the Woodbury Days Council at the Woodbury Days events. Candidates
are selected as members of the Royal Family based on communication skills, volunteering
& service efforts, and leadership abilities.
Once
a member of the Ambassadors, the eight members will spend a year together
bonding and becoming both lifelong friends and extended family. Throughout
the year, the Ambassadors travel around the state representing their
city and festival. They spend their time volunteering for the city at various
functions, such as visiting the residents at the Woodbury Health Care Center,
adopting a highway to ensure Woodbury stays beautiful, volunteering at fundraisers
for Childrens Hospital, and reading to the youth of Woodbury at schools
and libraries. In addition to volunteering, the royalty spends their summer attending
surrounding cities festivals, spreading the joy and spirit of the beautiful city
they represent.
The mission of the Ambassadors is to make a difference in the community in which they live, encouraging
the development and education of young women, and relationships with all ages.
Along with the Woodbury Days Council, they represent a community of dedicated
people striving to make the city a more friendly and wonderful place to live.
The
six young women chosen to represent the city will receive a scholarship to be
used for college education, paid directly to the institution of their choice upon
successful completion of their year as royalty. The Sr. King and Queen will also
receive a gift for volunteering their time with the Royal Family. The family represents
the city of Woodbury a minimum of fifty times throughout the year.
